This is the 11th year for Tyne and Wear Heritage Open Days! This year the Tyne and Wear event is bigger and better than ever before with a diverse range of 218 buildings and activities taking part in the weekend. So why not explore the architecture, history and culture on your doorstep and be part of this great event?

Some highlights this year are:

Gateshead

  • North East Exhibition of Miners’ Banners at Christ Church in Felling
  • A walk about the Great Fire of Gateshead along the Quayside
  • Gibside Estate and the Banqueting House in Rowlands Gill
  • A walk on Hammers, Chains ‘n’ Nails + Red Kites in Winlaton Mill

A Walk Around Old Newcastle

Newcastle

  • A walk around Pendower Council Estate – Homes for Heroes
  • An exhibition and heritage walk about The Hoppings Fair
  • A tour around Old Newcastle
  • Northern Print in the Ouseburn Valley

North Tyneside
